Within a few short years, he moved confidently through the corridors of power in Damascus, attending embassy receptions, cultivating friendships with influential generals, and even providing advice directly to Syrian leadership as the Defense Department's Chief Advisor.

Remarkably, Eli Cohen was so trusted that at one point he was under serious consideration for the position of Syria’s Deputy Minister of Defense.

Yet beneath this perfect cover, Eli Cohen was tirelessly sending back critical intelligence to Israel:

• Preparing Israel strategically for the Six-Day War.

• Precisely mapping Syrian military installations on the Golan Heights.
