Israel Launches the Ofek-19 Satellite

The Israeli Defense Ministry successfully launched the Ofek-19 satellite from the Palmachim Spaceport aboard a IAI Shavit orbital vehicle. Israel is one of just twelve nations with independent space-launch capability and uniquely, the only country that routinely launches satellites westward, against the Earth’s rotation, a far more technically demanding feat.
